The Summer Work Program (SWP) is a collaboration between SAIL and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as other community partners. We will provide students with a supportive work environment and focus on both soft and hard job skills. When teens are not working at placement sites, they will be developing team skills and discovering their own strengths and interests for future educational and career aspirations.
The program is offered in Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka. Start date and duration varies by community: Haines – June 9 to July 18, 25 hours/week; Juneau – June 2 to July 25, 30 hours/week; Ketchikan – June 9 to July 18, 25 hours/week; Sitka – June 13 to July 25, 25 hours/week.
Who can apply: A student with a disability aged 14-21 years old who has an IEP, 504 plan, or who may be potentially eligible for DVR services.
