Summer Work Program (Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka)

The Summer Work Program (SWP) is a collaboration between SAIL and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as other community partners.  We will provide students with a supportive work environment and focus on both soft and hard job skills. When teens are not working at placement sites, they will be developing team skills and discovering their own strengths and interests for future educational and career aspirations.

The program is offered in Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka.  Start date and duration varies by community: Haines – June 9 to July 18, 25 hours/week; Juneau – June 2 to July 25, 30 hours/week; Ketchikan – June 9 to July 18, 25 hours/week; Sitka – June 13 to July 25, 25 hours/week.

Who can apply: A student with a disability aged 14-21 years old who has an IEP, 504 plan, or who may be potentially eligible for DVR services.

Pay: $15 per hour
Hours: 25-30 hrs/week

Veterans Independent Living (VOICE) Specialist (Juneau)

Are you passionate about empowering veterans and seniors with disabilities to live independently? Join our team as a VOICE Specialist! In this role, you’ll oversee the VOICE program in Juneau, providing crucial support to enrolled veterans through regular check-ins and home visits. You’ll be the go-to person for program-related questions, annual renewals, and helping new veterans navigate the enrollment process. By collaborating with the SAIL team and conducting community outreach, you’ll play a key role in expanding the program’s reach and your expertise in the consumer-directed independent living model will enable veterans to achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence! Summer Work Coordinator (Ketchikan and Sitka)

Do you like working with high school age students? Do you excel working outside on trails? Are you looking to work with a fun group during the summer? Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL) is hiring a Youth Summer Work Coordinator in Ketchikan and Sitka.
